As this forum has a bunch of "last ____ you did" (such as video game played, web site you were on, what you ate, etc.) threads, I thought I'd put one up for this (if this was done elsewhere I didn't see it, so just move my post onto it if there is one).
This could be for physical media or digital. You can just list something and/or include a mini-review if you want, like I'm doing.
On Saturday I ordered two cds from a band called REZN (not sure how that's pronounced though: "resin"? "Raisin"?). If the rest of their catalog is like these two then they mostly do slow heavy metal, although they do throw in some surprises, such as saxophones (?), piano and flute. Also, rather than some dungeon synth, thrash, death and/or black metal bands, they don't have a "bluuurgh", or mucus vocalist (unlike with the stuff I *usually* get ), their front guy can actually sing.

I checked out a few songs on bandcamp and they sound like a mix of mellow but also some sludgy and doomy stuff it seems.

^Depends on the album. Their latest one (just released a few months ago) is the heaviest of their last three! Cool that you checked them out though
I also finally found season 3 of Game of Thrones at a resale shop the other week. We just have basic Dish, no HBO, so right now that's the only way I can see that

What are your favorite death metal bands and what bands do you like that are classified as dungeon synth? I am not familiar with that sub genre.

Last entertainment I bought was Jung Kook's 'Golden' CD. I'm on a K-Pop phase.

I do still like metal. But I totally love K-Pop. My husband figured it out for me - it's because it's all "happy" music, much like the "bubble gum" music of my youth.

No, no, no @ Menudo! Not a fan. I love the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. 98 Degrees was okay. Not a huge fan of New Kids. All those songs were happy, good singalong songs, you know? And while I don't speak Korean, some K-Pop songs have English words. I like BTS (can't wait for them to come back next year), ENHYPEN, Stray Kids, TXT. Not a big fan of the girl groups, but I liked Le Sserafim's early stuff and kind of like New Jeans.

I don't know much about K pop, but I think I heard of the stray kids because there was some controversy a few years ago that was covered on a political podcast I watched. If I'm thinking of the right band. But other than that I think I may have played a few songs in the chatroom by request but I don't remember.

Is that the same thing you're thinking of? Or something to do with racism?

I like BTS (can't wait for them to come back next year), You've got the easy route there. If you lived in Japan you might not be able to afford to attend a concert there. They're pretty expensive, as it's mostly just music executive bigwigs trying to find and catch the newest, possibly biggest thing and bands have to PAY in order to play, which is absurd. Sorry to be nosey but looked at your profile. Hah, yeah, the sarcastic smiley there, denoting “hey, if you didn't want people to snoop, you wouldn't put that info in there!” I love metal What are your favorite death metal bands Yeah, I was going to ask you the same thing, but I've lost track of metal pretty much since the early 2000s, so chances are good whatever it is you listen to I haven't heard of, but why not? As far as the older stuff goes, Coroner was one of my favorite bands from the 90s (when most of their albums came out although their debut was in 1988). Although doom, rather than death metal, Candlemass is another fave from back then. I have seven of their cds although they have many more albums than that. Other bands include Monstrosity, although they've had a scattered recording history. Nothing real original but it's amazing the quality of their albums when, by their third studio album, only one original member was left. How they could swap out so many members and still put out killer albums is beyond me. Another modern band is The Otolith, being very monstrously heavy doom/death, although they have two females in the band, both of which sing and play violin, plus one plays keyboards too! So they bring in a folk element at times rather than being straight-up death metal. Pulchra Morte is also doom/death, supposedly sounding like Crowbar but I don't really know much about them to compare. The vocalist does the growling vocals for the most part but he can sing as well, which with one track on each album they got in a female singer and a celloist as well. and what bands do you like that are classified as dungeon synth? I am not familiar with that sub genre. Oh, that's self explanatory: it's stuff that’s done mostly (or all) on synthesizers and you get the feeling you're in a dungeon when you listen to it. It's not quite like dark electronics like The Terminator soundtracks, as it's usually more melancholy and sad-sounding rather than mechanical. If you like all kinds of music you should like it, as many of us that listen to it also like metal. Anyway, Fogweaver does mostly slow, mystical-sounding dungeon synth. I've got two out of his last three cds; with Vedurnan, nothing's more clear than with "Heart of the Swan", "Of Yevaud and Elt" and "Dragonfly", my favorite, which sounds like a sad, slow, mideval (sp) waltz. With Morketsvind's Morketsvind I, it’s mostly slow, powerful dungeon synth, although with the last few two tracks it mixes in what sounds like 16-bit video game music as well. With The Journey he lightened up a bit, having like 18th century Renaissance music, orchestration, flute, organ, etc., which is obvious with the opening track. With "Dark Elf", that goes back to his more powerful stuff until about 20 seconds later when it lightens up with the (fake) flute, and "The Tournament" is more of the same. His albums of Saga Of Blood Lands and Book of Tales also follow suite where they’re lighter and every several seconds he changes the tone, style and all. Anyway, there’s a few to get you started Morketsvind also has done a metal album or two as well (along with a piano one) but I haven't heard them.

I will have to look up and give a listen to the Dungeon synth stuff. I am not sure if that will be up my ally but I like most genres of metal. I love thrash and death metal and also listen to a ton of classic metal as well as all different kinds of rock. So a little bit of everything for me! Great to have another metal guy here. We should have more discussions about this in the future. Thanks! I think my favorite death metal would be Suffocation, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus. Those are my favorite but I listen to a ton more
